Maxx D Trailers is a family-owned business based out of Texas. The founder, Allen Kornelsen, was in his mid-thirties and looking for a job in 1999.
But then, a friend let him know of a better opportunity — he could build a successful trailer manufacturing business with all the skills he had. With the dream of lifting his family out of financial hardship, Maxx D Trailers was founded in 1999.
This is when Allen moved to Texas and started Maxey Trailers Mfg. He handled all aspects of the business by himself — from welding to bookkeeping. In four years, the company had its first million-dollar year.
The next year, 2004, was another big year since Allen and his team of five moved into a larger facility. The company saw big wins in 2005, building over 2,000 trailers and generating almost three million in revenue.
But when the recession hit, the company almost shut its doors. Maxx D was able to recover with the help of a few friends, but it took till 2012 for the company to build its revenue back to the level it was before the recession.
As of this day, Maxx D Trailers employs about 300 people, all of whom understand the finer details of building trailers and running a respected manufacturing business. Allen’s son, Kendall, took over the reins a few years ago. Evidently, he is able to carry the business to new heights and takes pride in doing so.
If you’re interested in getting your hands on one of the Maxx D Trailers, here’s a quick overview of their options.
